OUTLAW RUN The Book Review

Posted on April 29, 2013 by Will Poole

1 MY 1969 GTO2
OUTLAW RUN The Book, written by New England, USA, Author and Artist, Jim Weicherding, takes the reader on the ride of their life in this recently published paperback book about the US Government banning all classic cars and trucks from road use across America.

With a storyline premise that sends chills up and down the spine of anyone who owns a Pre-1976 vehicle in the states just imagining the possibility of this fiction book becoming a reality has helped gain its popularity with car and truck enthusiasts, not only in the USA, but also other countries where this culture and hobby is enjoyed by millions of people who attend car shows, cruise nights and drag racing events.

Jim has taken these car and truck enthusiasts worst nightmare and turned it into a storyline premise that has endless possibilities for ongoing plots and even a continued series.

OUTLAW RUN The Book features a cast of wonderful characters who are compelled to take things into their hands but watch as just one man actually takes his high performance 1969 Pontiac GTO out of storage, after parked for 5 years under a car cover and says, "Catch me if you can!" to area law enforcement agencies.

If the OUTLAW GTO is caught on the roadway it will be confiscated, crushed and the owner will lose his license for an indefinite amount of time, face jail time and be forced to pay huge fines. A risk this owner is willing to take to show his contempt and anger for the law passed by Congress banishing these classic muscle cars from America's roadways years earlier.

OUTLAW GTO is a power plant 1969 Pontiac GTO dubbed, "OUTLAW" at area drag ways by the drivers competing against it because it always beat the other street driven drag cars and stole the show every week during the drag racing season. OUTLAW's owner, Etch, would walk up to the other race car driver with his hand out, take the cash and quickly put it in his front pocket and yell out the word, "Next!"

OUTLAW RUN The Book isn't just one chase scene after another. It is a non-stop chase from front to back covers that will have the readers on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen next to this rebel with a cause. There are many twists and turns, shots fired, cars soaring through the air, ambulance chasing, off road cat-and-mouse diversions along with high speed evasive actions taken with multiple law enforcement vehicles leading up to a chemical hauling train explosion leaving police vehicles smoldering burnt out shells of steel that don't even resemble cars anymore.

Every sentence of OUTLAW RUN The Book is a preview of something more exciting coming with another turn of the page.

OUTLAW RUN The Book was written by a car guy, for car guys and girls, that opens up the mind to all possibilities and invites the reader be a part of the story. As you read the story, OUTLAW RUN, you feel like you are in the driver's seat and are taking a ride for your own life. As you read the story, you become entangled with the words and the pages become the vehicle you drive.

OUTLAW RUN The Book is a perfect size for vehicle dashboard compartments and bringing along to car shows, cruise nights and drag ways to read and enjoy in an element great for reading a story of this type surrounded by other car and truck enthusiasts.

If you love muscle cars, classic cars and trucks along with drag racing you will love reading OUTLAW RUN The Book written by Jim Weicherding, but there is one thing that you will need to do before reading this book; "Buckle Up, because it is one helluva ride!"
