This is a story of a man and his Love, a 1969 Pontiac GTO.
This is the tell of a Man and the love for his car. We will try and tell the story in it entirety, through out the life of this man and the car.
The year was 1971, Avon, Conn. and 16 year old boy was looking for a car and finds a one year old Pontiac convertible selling for 1400.00 .The young man works out a deal with the car lot, agreeing to bring the owner, his paycheck (from dish washing) every Friday, and the gentleman diligently subtracts the 28.00 from the balance at the end of each week. After 6 months the young man is asked to present a report card and a letter from his boss. The young man proudly delivers a letter stating that he was a hard worker and a report card to show that he also studied hard. At this point they shake hands and the owner tosses the keys to the young man, he is reminded that he was expected to continue to show up on Fridays until the debt is paid off. Well things get a little tricky once his father sees the car roll into the driveway. The young mans father reminds him that they do not to go through life owing others money. So at this point he has two choices, take the car back or pay the balance, so the young man convinces his father to lend him the money and he will pay him back. So now the young man works for his father to pay the debt in full….
Forty years later and thousands of miles away...His Love sits proudly and beautifully, brought back to life so that others can enjoy her.
